Panasonic has identified a possible problem with the Li-ion battery included with their popular FZ-G1 Toughpad and recently announced a free battery replacement program. Almost all FZ-G1 owners are eligible and should download the BIOS utility to prevent the overheating problem affecting Li-ion batteries.
All FZ-G1 tablet models below in combination with the listed battery packs are affected:
The root cause of this issue is contamination inside the battery cells. When batteries
covered under this recall notice are used in environments with wide temperature
variation, a short circuit can occur inside the cell that can cause overheating and ignition.
- Contact Panasonic to receive a replacement battery.
- Download and run Panasonic’s BIOS Utility on the tablet which enables battery charging controls to minimize the risk of overheating and ignition

Largest Tablet Display with Highest Resolution Using Windows OS
At twice the size of the FZ-G1, the Panasonic Toughpad 4K is the solution for workers on the go needing a large high resolution display and Windows 8.l or 7 Pro.
We did not appreciate this computer until we saw it at the Panasonic Innovation Center. The bright colors and clarity make it appear you are looking out a window.
The 20 inch display provides 230 ppi (3840 X 2560) 4K resolution powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 vPro processor. The reinforced magnesium alloy frame and glass fiber reinforced case is designed to withstand a 30 inch drop. The included optical electronic touch pen is a powerful tool that is accurate to almost the pixel level. It is sensitive enough to interpret 2,048 levels of pressure with a pen-and-paper-like feel.
An optional Toughpad 4K charging cradle is available that offers 3 additional USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, Ethernet, and power. The dock has two positions that provide desktop and drafting modes.
Designed for Public-Safety Command Vehicles and Construction Market
This tablet is perfect for displaying high resolution maps, photos, blueprints, and other detailed presentations requiring a large display area. Our public-safety customers will like the portability when away from their command vehicles. Contractors can review blueprints and make changes as needed.
