Cradlepoint Provides Automatic Network Failover with LTE 4G Broadband

Wireless 4G for Branch Offices and Backup Redundancy

As cloud computing continues to grow so does the dependence on internet access. “Internet failures” will cripple productivity for an office full of workers or abruptly stop a retail store from processing customer credit cards.

Cradlepoint 4G router for network backupCradlepoint has low cost 3G/4G wireless routers for automatic failover to provide backup for your existing internet service provider (ISP).

Cellular 4G provides speeds faster than DSL and can provide primary support for branch offices, jobsite trailers, and retail locations requiring broadband access.

Cradlepoint 3G/4G routers support LTE, HSPA+, and EVDO Rev A. Theoretical downlink rates for LTE can be up to 100 Mbps but depends on signal strength and other things. They can be ordered for use with any of the major cellular carriers including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

Cradlepoint ARC MBR1400 and CBA750, CBA850 3G/4G Routers

Wireless 3G/4G WiFi Router The ARC MBR1400 includes 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi and supports advanced security features including VPN,VLAN, and WAN Affinity. There are 5 Ethernet ports and it supports up to 128 WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) at the same time. Four SSID’s can be programmed to separate mission-critical traffic.

The ARC CBA850 is in a white housing. It 4G Failover PCI Compliantprovides 3G/4G/LTE failover that integrates seamlessly with existing network infrastructure. Using NetCloud, it can extend management capability to any primary router Out-of-Band without a static IP.

Designed for PCI 3.0 compliant network architectures, it is perfect for retail customers using POS.

The included paddle antennas work surprisingly well. We have been able to access LTE speeds from locations with no smartphone 4G signal. There are also optional outsidemagnetic and directional antennas that improve signal strength and throughput.

Micom 3 HF-SSB Radios Provide Long Range Emergency Communications

Micom HF Radio LogoThe Micom HF-SSB radio was developed by Motorola in Schaumburg almost 40 years ago to support long range communications without costly infrastructure. Today there are thousands of Micom radios in operation by military, government agencies, civil air patrol, and petroleum companies. A few years ago Motorola sold the division to Elbit Systems, Ltd. and manufacturing continues with the highest standards along with support.

Micom HF-SSB Radios Are MIL-STD-810F and JITC CertifiedMicom 3F HF-SSB Radio

Micom products incorporate the most advanced HF SSB radio technology and latest features available. The radios are JITC certified, MIL-STD-810F, ALE per MIL-STD-188-141B, FED-STD-1045, and a MTBF of 27,000+ hours.

Voice and Data Coverage From 0 to 3,000 Miles

HF NVIS Radio PropagationMicom radios operate within the 1.6 – 30 MHz HF frequency band and use the earth’s ionosphere to bounce the radio waves over long distances. Normal groundwave propagation is limited to about 35 miles and longer skywave range has been unpredictable. An advanced feature called Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) selects the best frequency depending on atmospheric conditions resulting in dependable long distance communications without any repeaters or relays.

High frequency (HF) communications has difficulty with transmissions between approximately 35 -110 miles causing a dead zone. If you require coverage between these distances, a NVIS mobile antenna is needed. By adjusting the radials horizontally, the dead areas can be filled in providing a “poor man’s satellite system”.

Micom radios are also capable of transmitting data such as faxes and email at 300 – 9600 baud at an additional cost.

The South Bowers David Clark system uses four H9940 dual muff, behind-the-head style headsets each with a 9910-BSW wireless belt station with VOX. This design provides hands-free intercom for the crew and the ability to monitor radio traffic from the boat’s APX 7500 radio. The belt station has a PTT (push-to-talk) switch for transmitting. The U9922-38 wireless gateway acts as a repeater and provides up to 300 ft range using clear DECT based technology.

David Clark A99-04CRG ChargerThe belt stations use 40688G-90 rechargeable batteries that are removable and last approximately 24 hours after a full charge. A A99-04CRG 110V AC charger will hold 4 batteries and takes about 3-4 hours when fully depleted. David Clark has several 9900 Series headset styles a full range of accessories, interface cables, and antenna choices. The APX radio uses an 05 control head and motorcycle options for improved outdoor performance.South Bowers Airboat Installation

A weatherproof NEMA box was added for better protection and installation was completed at our Dover service facility on Horsepond Road. The David Clark 9900 wireless headset intercom system is an excellent choice for fire/ems, military, and marine applications. Our thanks to South Bowers Station 57 for the opportunity to provide the first David Clark 9900 Series intercom in Delaware.

Globalstar Satellite Phone Overview and Tips

Globalstar Satellite Phone Emergency Communications

Globalstar Satellite Phone Voice Network Coverage

In the event land-based cellular and wireline communications are disrupted due to storm power outages, the Globalstar satellite phone network may be the only way to communicate. Globalstar GSP-1700 phones rely on low earth orbiting satellites instead of towers for system access. It is important to note you must be outdoors when a satellite is overhead near your location.

Emergency and Lone Worker 2-Way Radio Features

Emergency Alert

Responding to accidents or hazardous spills require fast decisions. Vertex Standard is focused on improving basic voice 2-way radio communications by adding features to increase safety in the workplace. Their emergency feature can be enabled easily in the radio programming software at no extra cost.

Emergency Alerts Can Be Programmed with Various Configurations

Your personnel can request help by pushing a radio button that will instantly alert their supervisor or co-workers. Alerts can be programmed with many options depending on your specific needs. Display radios will show the radio ID and continue flashing or the screen can be programmed to blank out and become silent for discreet requests. Alerts will time out after 5 minutes or keep trying for as long as 60 minutes. The microphone will open so those on the channel will hear the surrounding area without the user having to push the transmit button.

Lone Worker Radio Feature

The lone worker feature by Vertex Standard is available in the entire portable and mobile product line except the VX-5500/6000 series. Lone workers in remote or hazardous areas can activate the feature when needed. Depending on the radio programming, scheduled intervals from 5 – 80 minutes will remind the lone worker to check-in using the PTT (push-to-talk) button. If the pre-warning tone is ignored, the radio will enter emergency alert mode.
